Mike Huckabee’s Mixed Record

Mike Huckabee’s fiscal record is not as bad as some of his critics have alleged. It’s not as good as Mitt Romney’s fiscal record, but it’s not terrible either. One problem is that Huckabee repeatedly failed to try to cut spending but instead resorted to tax increases. That’s troubling. That being said, when adjusted for inflation, state spending under Huckabee increased by only What worries me about Huckabee is his weak record on illegal immigration. There are some genuine bright spots in Huckabee’s record as well.
